Free SOCKS5 proxies are rarer and often sourced from open proxy lists scraped from the internet. These proxies have no guarantees of uptime, speed, or security.
The risks of free proxies:
- Traffic logging: Free proxy operators can log every connection, including which accounts connect, when, and to what channels. You have no way to verify their logging practices.
- Slow speeds: Free proxies are typically overloaded. Hundreds or thousands of users share the same server, resulting in high latency and frequent timeouts.
- Unreliable uptime: Free proxies go offline without warning. The operator has no financial incentive to maintain the infrastructure, and servers often disappear permanently.
